James Odom is Parkland's Six Sigma Master Black Belt with demonstrated success in virtually all areas of a business including manufacturing, finance, engineering, logistics, HR and IT. His passion for continuous improvement is closely coupled with his desire for enhanced customer satisfaction. He creates a winning team culture with high levels of employee involvement utilizing cross-functional teams.

Mr. Odom gained much of his experience and credentials at the Delphi Corporation in Warren, Ohio. He was Master Black Belt-Engineering. In this position he prioritized and coached continuous improvement projects throughout the North American Engineering organization. His work reduced cycle time and improved transactional processes that lead to savings in excess of $5 million. Prior to this he was Master Black Belt - HR, Finance, IT & Cable Make Plants, where his efforts improved quality, reduced costs and enhanced volume metrics.

James was an integral part of the global deployment team that developed the internal Six Sigma process at Delphi Packard. His work there included the development and presentation of a 5 day Green Belt training program, and a 3 week Black Belt training program. He also trained top executives as both Green and Black Belts.

Mr. Odom began his career at Delphi with increasing responsibilities in the Engineering, Quality Control, Process Engineering and Global Quality Systems.

Mr. Odom received his undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from Youngstown State University, and his Masters in Manufacturing Management from the General Motors Institute (Kettering). He has received certifications as or is affiliated with the American Society for Quality (ASQ) Automotive Excellence Publication Committee, ASQ Youngstown-Warren, Section 0805 Chairperson, ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Shainin Red X Journeyman - Shainin LLC, and Six Sigma Master Black Belt - Air Academy Associates. He was the 2005 ASQ Automotive Division Quality Professional of the Year recipient, and was named an American Society for Quality Fellow in 2009. He is a Quality Systems & Lean Six Sigma Instructor at Kent State University, Trumbull and Salem Campus.
