Tina Lucas (Principal) has spent her entire career in finance, starting with public accounting and progressing to her current position a Principal in the Parkland Group. Since joining Parkland in 2000, Tina has directed several challenging refinancing, divestiture, turnaround and workout/restructuring engagements. Public accounting provided Tina with an ideal basis for a career in finance, especially since she has spent her entire career working with companies who are either focused on acquisitions / growth or companies that are focused on rebuilding a financially troubled company. In both of these situations, understanding the numbers, both how they are generated and what they mean to the future of the company, is critical to success.
Tina's many years as a commercial and asset-based banker with National City Bank and with KeyBank (including Ameritrust and Society National Bank) have positioned her to be very effective in helping Parkland clients source new financing, negotiate with lenders and restructure/workout loans. Her executive positions with both of these two financial institutions provided her with extensive leadership, project management and critical thinking skills.
Tina began on the Audit staff of KPM Peat Marwick
(now KMPG), where she worked with manufacturing, service and retail clients. She then moved on to a field examination position at Ameritrust, where she managed this group for two years, before moving to a portfolio management position, and later to a business development position. In 1986, Tina moved to a combined portfolio management and business development position at KeyBank’s Structured Finance Group and was subsequently promoted to Senior Vice President and manager of this group. After leaving KeyBank, Tina opened a Cleveland office for The CIT Group, a commercial lender specializing in asset-based loans for high-risk companies. She also worked for National City Bank helping to develop their asset-based lending subsidiary (first overseeing their portfolio-management function and then as a senior marketing officer developing new clients).
